Baltimore Cocktail Week will focus on the cultivation and enhancement of the hospitality industry in Baltimore City and surrounding areas through innovative cocktail programs, comprehensive educational forums and consumer enrichment events.
This evening will host a Frederick Wildman Spirit cocktail competition between key accounts. The winning account will be awarded a $250 prize and a $250 contribution to the charity of their choice. Lite fare and welcome cocktails will be provided.
A licensed councilor and self-employment consultant will discuss strategies for wise money management and long-term financial planning for cash-based incomes. National Balvenie Brand Ambassador David Laird will provide a whisky 101 introduction followed by a discussion of the history of Balvenie. Four craft spirit suppliers and Heavy Seas Beer will host a mini tradeshow-style spirit tasting and cocktail hour followed by a screening of the film CHEF. Lite fare will be provided. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to Moveable Feast.
A wellness seminar focused on sustaining health against the strain of long shifts, late nights and heavy lifting. A nutritionist will discuss supplements for stamina and recovery. This discussion will be followed by a restorative yoga class specifically designed for those who stand rather than sit for a living. There will be a mix and mingle post class VEEV reception.
A cupping class with three coffees and three teas each from a different country. This class will give a brief explanation on tasting characteristics of the featured coffees and teas. The conversation will explore their terroir, tasting different notes for each based on the geography, climate and elevation of the producers. By the end of class attendees will be able to explore the differences in profiles and characteristics, similar to wine bodies. Lindsay Difabbio will explore the difference between service and hospitality. From conversation options that exclude the weather and traffic to remembering your guest's usual to anticipating their preferences and making suggestions. Jameson mixologist Charles Tappan will share his tips for engaging guests during bar service while he presents Jameson and Jameson Black Barrel cocktails. Throughout Baltimore Cocktail Week the participating bars and restaurants listed below will donate $1 per Frederick Wildman Spirit signature cocktail to the nonprofit of their choice. The highest donating account will have their donation matched by Baltimore Cocktail Week and will receive a special commemorative prize package.
